How to add a LUT in CapCut
Custom LUTs work in the desktop version of CapCut for Windows and Mac. The phone app doesn't import .cube files at the moment, only its built-in filters. On a phone, VN is a free editor that does.
1. Import the LUT
In the panel at the top left, click Adjustment, then LUT, then Import. Select one or more .cube files.
2. Apply it
Select a clip on the timeline and double-click the LUT thumbnail to apply it to that clip. To grade several clips at once, click the + on the thumbnail instead. That adds an adjustment layer you can stretch over the clips.
3. Make it weaker
In the LUT settings on the right there is an Intensity slider. 100 is the full look.
Log footage
CapCut has no color management of its own, so use the camera file of a look (for example _slog3) directly on log clips.
CapCut sometimes moves features between the free version and Pro. If the Import button shows a Pro badge on your account, LUT import is part of Pro for you.
Need a LUT to try it with? Golden Hour Portrait is a free .cube.
Last checked October 2026. Menus move between versions; if a step no longer matches, the general idea usually still does.
